MESSI DESERVES EVERY AWARD

Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini has said that Leo Messi deserves to win every major award there is to win for a player individually.

Lionel Messi recently broke the record for the most number of goals for an individual player in a single campaign in Europe. The record was held by German Gerd Muller, but it has now been broken by Argentine forward Lionel Messi.

The Barcelona striker now has 68 goals to his name this season alone, which is significantly better than his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo has managed at Real Madrid. Even though Lionel Messi does not have any great titles to show for this season, he has been one of the best players in the world over the last couple of years.

Barcelona recently beat Malaga 4-1. In this match, Lionel Messi broke the record held by Gerd Muller. Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick in the match and Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini later admitted that the Argentine was the difference between the two clubs.

Despite having scored a lot of goals this season, Lionel Messi would have been extremely disappointed to have missed the crucial penalty against Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final. Barcelona received a penalty early in the first half, which would have killed the game, but Messi missed the penalty and Chelsea went through on a 3-2 aggregate victory.

"I don't know the parameters for the Ballon d'Or. I only know that Messi deserves to win every trophy. Guardiola's contribution to football has been immense, not only for the titles he has won, but for the game he has implemented and the quality he has shown as a person. Pep has made the best decision for him, but I think he will only take a short break. Certainly, people will be hoping that he only takes a little time off as the game needs him," the former Real Madrid coach said.
